My Safe Space – Reflection & Drawing Activity

Help children explore what safety feels like with this gentle, strengths-based reflection activity inspired by A Walk in Hope's Garden.

Every child deserves places where they feel calm, comfortable and free to be themselves. This printable worksheet encourages children to think about the environments, people, sounds, objects and experiences that help them feel safe and supported. Through drawing and reflection, children are invited to create their own safe space while building self-awareness and emotional understanding.

The activity includes a gentle connection to Hope's bedroom from A Walk in Hope's Garden, helping children understand that safe spaces can look different for everyone. For some children, a safe space may be a bedroom or cosy corner. For others, it may be a favourite outdoor place, a sensory space, a reading nook, a pet's company, or simply being with someone they trust.
